Fourteen volunteer ecoawards assessors attended a participatory training session in Windhoek on Saturday 20th February. The training included a theoretical session on the eco awards criteria, and a practical session at a local guesthouse.
Trainees were from a range of locations in Namibia and represented a wide variety of interested organisations and individuals such as the Ministry of Environment and Tourism, architects, tourism operators, tour guides and other people involved in Namibia's tourism industry.
The newly trained assessors will now be able to assist with the on-site assessments of the increasing numbers of establishments who would like to gain the prestigous eco award flowers.
Further training sessions will be held in future. Please contact us if you are interested in learning how to assist with eco awards assessments.
